# Installation

Follow these steps to deploy dm-movement on your FiveM server.

### Requirements

`dm-movement` is fully **standalone** and does not require any external framework, inventory, or library to function.

* **Server Artifacts**: Recommended FiveM server build `6683` or newer (using `cerulean` fx\_version).
* **Game**: GTA V / FiveM on foot.
* **Compatibility**: Works out of the box with **Qbox**, **QBCore**, **ESX**, or custom/standalone servers.

### Install Steps

1. Download the resource from your [FiveM Keymaster](https://keymaster.fivem.net/assets) grants after purchasing on Tebex.
2. Place the resource in your server's resources directory:

```
resources/[dm-scripts]/dm-movement
```

{% hint style="warning" %}
Ensure the resource folder is named exactly `dm-movement`. Renaming the folder can prevent key mappings and exports from registering properly.
{% endhint %}

3. Add the resource to your `server.cfg`:

```cfg
ensure dm-movement
```

4. Restart your server or run the following console commands:

```
refresh
ensure dm-movement
```

### Key Bindings

`dm-movement` registers native FiveM key mappings for leaning. Server owners can set the default keys in `shared/config.lua`, but players can also rebind them individually in their GTA/FiveM settings:

1. Open the pause menu (**ESC**).
2. Navigate to **Settings** > **Key Bindings** > **FiveM**.
3. Locate **Lean left** and **Lean right** under the `dm-movement` category.
4. Bind them to any preferred keyboard or mouse button.

**Default Mappings:**

* **Lean Left**: Mouse 5 (`MOUSE_EXTRABTN2` / front thumb button)
* **Lean Right**: Mouse 4 (`MOUSE_EXTRABTN1` / back thumb button)
