# Installation

Install both ox\_fuel resources and confirm they are running.

### Requirements

| Requirement          | Notes                                                                                                                            |
| -------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `ox_lib` | 3.22.0 or newer. The only hard requirement, checked on startup. |
| An inventory         | ox\_inventory, qs-inventory, origen\_inventory, codem-inventory, ps-inventory, qb-inventory, or your QB/ESX framework inventory. |
| A targeting resource | Optional. ox\_target, qb-target or qtarget.                                                                                      |

Only `ox_lib` is version checked. Everything else is detected at runtime - see [Frameworks And Bridges](/devmosaic/resources/devmosaic-ox-fuel-rework/bridges.md).

### Install Steps

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Place both resources

Drop both folders into your resources directory, keeping the names exactly as they are:

```
resources/[ox]/ox_fuel
resources/[ox]/Dm_fuel_assets
```

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Add them to server.cfg

```cfg
ensure Dm_fuel_assets
ensure ox_fuel
```

If you already load the whole category with `ensure [ox]`, you do not need to add anything. `ox_fuel` declares `Dm_fuel_assets` as a dependency, so the assets always start first either way.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Restart and check

```
refresh
ensure Dm_fuel_assets
ensure ox_fuel
```

Walk to any gas station. The pump screens should light up as you approach.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
`Dm_fuel_assets` is not optional. It holds the nozzle, hose and pump models. Without it the pumps still work but no nozzle will appear.
{% endhint %}

### Choosing How Players Interact

Set `ox_target` in `config.lua` to pick the interaction style.

| `ox_target` | What players get                                                                       |
| ----------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `true` | The targeting eye, with options on the pump and on vehicles. No key prompts on screen. |
| `false`     | On-screen prompts and keys: <kbd>E</kbd>, <kbd>G</kbd>, <kbd>H</kbd>.                  |

The option is named `ox_target` for compatibility with stock `ox_fuel`, but it turns on whichever targeting resource you actually run.

{% hint style="info" %} <kbd>G</kbd> and <kbd>H</kbd> keep working even with `ox_target = true`, so players can use whichever they prefer. Only <kbd>E</kbd> is exclusive to the non-target mode.
{% endhint %}

### Upgrading From Stock ox\_fuel

Your existing `config.lua` values carry over. Copy your old prices and settings into the new file rather than replacing it wholesale, because the new file adds a `pumpInteraction` block the old one does not have.

Nothing in the database changes, and no SQL is needed.
